60 Years of Inspiring Great Futures
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Ocoee Region (BGCOR) is proud to be celebrating our 60th anniversary this year, marking six decades of inspiring kids to achieve great futures!
After 60 years and serving more than 30,000 young people, BGCOR has proven time and time again that great futures really do start here.
Since its inception in 1964, BGCOR has been a leader in youth development and out-of-school care. But we haven’t done this alone … not by a long shot! The generosity of our alumni, volunteers, parents, and fans has been absolutely critical to the Club over the past six decades.
BGCOR remains committed to delivering quality, out-of-school programming to every child who becomes a member, despite rising costs and increasing numbers of families who struggle to afford services like ours.
Currently, our membership numbers are at an all-time high, yet nearly 54% of parents are unable to pay the low weekly fees of $20. For the Club to exist in any community requires buildings, staff, and a wide range of costly resources. But despite the cost of those things, no child is ever turned away, regardless of their financial situation. For 60 years, we’ve remained fully committed to offering hard-working parents and their children safe, fun, and encouraging places for young people to go after school and during the extended days of summer, where they have opportunities to: build caring, supportive, healthy relationships; learn, grow, and develop the skills and talents they need to be productive citizens; and discover how to take responsibility for their own behaviors and goals.
We believe this formula is truly where great futures start! And that’s where your support comes in.
For our anniversary, we’re introducing our $60 for 60 campaign (#60for60) for everyone who has been connected to the Club in any way over the past 60 years, and we need you to both donate and help us spread the word.
